Tell us a bit about yourself.

I live in Raleigh, NC. I have two grown daughters and 3 wonderful grandsons. My husband and I have been married for 45 years. I am an elementary school teacher and have a degree as a reading specialist. I work with young children who are having difficulty learning to read.

I have always had a love for all things tea since my Grandmother used to help me have tea parties with my dolls as a young child. I decided to do something “tea” related so I would have some thing to keep me busy when I finally retire form teaching. I googled “Tea business for sale” and found this tea business. I purchased it four years ago and have been working on improving it and making it my own style. I am a cat lover and have two female cats — Bitsy and Cindy. My husband and I love to travel — especially cruising.

What is your favorite color?

Purple, of course!! My website is purple.

What are you reading right now?

Nothing—I don’t have time to read!!!!

What is your favorite Handmade item, either purchased for yourself or received as a gift?

I treasure my crocheted snowflakes from my Grandmother — she made them for me before she passed away. I hang them lovingly on my Christmas tree each year and think of her.

What is the first thing you can remember making by hand? How and why did you make it?

I learned how to knit in college and made quite a few sweaters for myself and my future husband.

Why do you create? 

It gives me a sense of satisfaction to make some thing myself.

Do you sell only online, or do you also sell in shops and/or at craft shows?

I sell my teas and other things online. I also supply some local coffee shops and bakeries with my teas.
